I am an Associate Astronomer at Steward Observatory, the University of Arizona. My research interests include extrasolar planets, brown dwarfs, adaptive optics, deformable mirrors, infrared cameras, and inquiry education.
I am PI of MAPS (the MMT AO exoPlanet characterization System).
I am also PI of the "Clio" IR camera and Instrument Scientist of MagAO.
I contribute to the development of MagAO-X (including the MEMS deformable mirror) and am a member of the science team.
I initially led the development of MIRAC-5 for MMT and/or MagAO and am now a member of the instrument and science team.
I've contributed to the development and operations of the Large Binocular Telescope Interferometer (LBTI) since 2013.
As Center for Astronomical Adaptive Optics (CAAO) Instrument Scientist I've supported AO observing and instrumentation upgrades on both MagAO and LBTI; from 2012-2019 I supported 270 adaptive optics observing nights on CAAO's ASM- and PyWFS-based AO systems.
I contributed to the development and commissioning of the Gemini Planet Imager (GPI) (particularly the MEMS deformable mirror, and the coronagraphic lab testbed), and am a member of the science team.
